Marine Surveyor A.I.I.M.S (Marine DIPMS) • Boat Safety Scheme Examiner

A marine survey gives you a comprehensive check-up for your boat or sailing vessel, It’s the equivalent in the boating world of getting a gold level property survey.

A survey is designed to give you a detailed picture of the overall health of your vessel, identify any existing problems and highlight any potential areas of weakness which could turn into future issues. It is also a requirement for the vast majority of marine insurers before they will insure a pre-owned vessel of a certain age or build.

The surveys I offer include pre-purchase, insurance surveys, damage assessment, sailing vessel valuations, steel hull thickness and weld inspection testing, GRP and FRP testing relating to manufacturing defects or related osmosis problems and mechanical surveys.

I often survey yachts, power craft, motor boats, motor yachts, narrowboats, fishing boats, workboats, RIBS, multihulls, and vessels from 4 to 36 meters in length.

Surveys can be carried out on vessels constructed from a range of materials including steel, aluminium, glass reinforced plastic (GRP/Fibre Glass), modern composite materials, and traditional timber.
